Physician Desk Reference Book

The Physicians' Desk Reference has been around for 71 years. It is published annually and generally used as a reference guide. It is published with the collaboration of pharmaceutical companies and can be found in most physician offices. The book contains information on all the drugs licensed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The information included is provided by the drug manufacturers. The information on any drug in the PDR is extensive and is similar to what is available on the insert of the package. This is sometimes referred to as prescribing information or product information.
